S. Sawada secured a university research grant for his work on pumices! Well done!

kaikikazanbear7 months ago6 months ago01 mins

In the framework of his Spring scholarship, S. Sawda had the chance to apply for a competitive research fund for him to travel overseas and collaborate with other colleagues. For this purpose he has received 1,000,000 yen, which will go towards conference in the UK (the BSG) and fieldwork with a colleague at Prof. Gomez past-university Canterbury University (New Zealand), and Australia. Congratulations.

SABO is the science, engineering and art of sediment disaster risk reduction. It has no real equivalent in the Western part of the world, nor outside Asia. At the laboratory, and from this lense, we are finding solutions to natural hazards and disaster risk reduction, climate change and sustainability issues, concentrating on the island arcs of Japan and Indonesia mostly.

PI: Prof. Christopher Gomez

Come and work, learn, enjoy SABO, Geomorphology and climate change hazards and disaster risks with us. Let's work towards sustainable communities.
