海事科学研究科・ゴメス教授の砂防研究室に所属する博士後期課程２年の大海陸人さんが、令和7年度 公益社団法人砂防学会研究発表会（長野大会）において、「若手優秀発表賞（発表賞）」を受賞しました。
大海さんは、島嶼火山における火山性土石流の海岸域への到達過程およびそのメカニズムに関する研究に取り組んでいます。
日本およびインドネシア列島の火山を対象とした国際共同研究を通じて、火山災害の実態把握および予測精度の向上を目指し、理工学的アプローチによる火山環境における地形変動・土砂移動プロセスの解明に努めています。
Rikuto Daikai, a second-year doctoral student in Professor Gomez’s Sabo Laboratory at the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, received the Young Researcher Outstanding Presentation Award (Presentation Award) at the 2025 Research Presentation Conference of the Japan Society of Erosion Control (Nagano Conference).
Ohmi is researching the process and mechanisms by which volcanic debris flows from island volcanoes reach coastal areas.
Through international collaborative research targeting volcanoes in Japan and the Indonesian archipelago, he is striving to elucidate the processes of topographical change and sediment movement in volcanic environments using scientific and engineering approaches, with the aim of understanding the actual situation of volcanic disasters and improving the accuracy of their prediction.
